方法一:由间溴苯酚与硫酸二甲酯反应而得。将间溴苯酚溶解在氢氧化钠溶液中，搅拌下慢慢滴加硫酸二甲酯，加热反应1h，冷却分层无色油状物。水层用乙醚提取，干燥，蒸馏回收乙醚，将残余物和油状物减压蒸馏即得成品。产率90%。
用途二:有机合成原料。
