用途一:用作日用、食用香精
方法一:由乙酰胺与五硫化二磷反应，再与氯化丙酮缩合而得。将无水苯加入反应瓶中，再加入乙酰胺和粉状五硫化二磷的混合物，在水浴上加热。再加上氯代丙酮的苯溶液，加完回流30分钟。然后将水加入反应混合物中，即分层，弃去上层微红色液体，取下层液加氢氧化钠使呈碱性，再加乙醚提取。提取液用无水硫酸钠干燥。过滤，常压蒸馏，收集140-150℃馏分，再将收集物重新蒸馏，收集143-145℃馏分即为2，4-二甲基噻唑。
